In addition to the regular morning and evening worship services on Sundays, our church offers many different ministries for people of all ages. Please explore this page to find out what we have to offer. We would gladly welcome you or your family to join us at any time! Please check the Church Calendar for any changes to the normal times and locations.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
Our Sunday School classes are open to all and meet each week before the morning worship service. The Adult Class meets at 9:15am in the Youth Center (Back Auditorium). Our Young Adults Class for senior high and college-age students meets in the church basement each week at 9:30am. The Junior Varsity Class (Grades 7 - 10) are currently studying the basics of Christian doctrine using Wayne Grudem's 'Bible Doctrine' and meet at 9:15am in the Office Building lounge.
The remainder of our youth system uses the Generations of Grace curriculum produced by Grace Community Church. This curriculum spans three age ranges but is unified with each class studying the same Bible text each week with the aim of promoting family discussion across the age groups. The Early Childhood class for ages 3 through pre-K meets in basement classroom 2. Our Elementary class (Grades K - 2) meets in basement classroom 1 and the Junior class (Grades 3 - 6) meets in the Office Building classroom. All youth classes start at 9:15am each week.
HERMENEUTICS CLASS
Each Wednesday we meet as part of our Bible School. Beginning September 3, 2008, we will be studying Hermeneutics using a DVD curriculum taught by Dr. Jim Rosscup from The Master's Seminary. Don't be scared by the word! Hermeneutics is nothing more than understanding and learning to use basic
working principles of interpreting the Scriptures competently. The word 'hermeneutics' comes from the Greek word, 'hermeneuo', meaning "to explain", or "to interpret". It is the root word Christ used in Luke 24:27, "And beginning with Moses and with all the prophets He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures."
The goal of Hermeneutics is to enable you to become a more equipped student of the Bible, so that you might come to a right understanding of what God says to us in His Word and so that you might better understand the person of Jesus Christ.
MID-WEEK YOUTH MINISTRIES
Our mid-week youth Bible study for grades 4 through 10 is held at 7pm every Wednesday in the Office Building. They meet for a time of study and prayer and are currently working on a series titled 'The Foundations of Faith.' At the same time, Kid's Quest Catechism Club is held in the basement classrooms for all kids aged 3 though 3rd grade.
HAND CHIME CHOIR
Cornerstone Bible Church is blessed with varied music ministries that involve members of all ages and abilities. The Hand Chime Choir includes youths in grades two through high school. This group of dedicated musicians rehearses regularly on Sunday evenings from 6:10-6:45 p.m. in the Youth Center. The purpose of the ensemble is to glorify God through music by playing for worship services and special events.
MEN'S PRAYER BREAKFAST
The men of the church meet on the second Saturday of every month for breakfast followed by a time of discussion and prayer. We meet in the church basement from 7:00am - 9:00am. Breakfast is provided. We welcome you to come and join us. Please call the church office for further information.
MEN'S BIBLE STUDIES
There are several men's small group Bible studies held each week and we would welcome you to join us! The Beavercreek group meets at Panera Bread (Fairfield Commons) at 7am every Saturday. The Xenia groups meet at the homes of some of our church members on Thursday evenings at 7pm and Saturday mornings at 8am. For locations or further information, please contact the church office.
WOMEN'S MINISTRIES
The church welcomes all ladies to join with us on the third Saturday of each month for our Ladies Prayer Fellowship. We meet in the Office Building at 10am for a time of teaching, led by one of the ladies in the church, and prayer. Titus chapter 2 commands the older women in the church to teach and encourage the younger in practical aspects of life so that "the Word of God will not be dishonored." Our Titus 2 Time Together (T2TT) is an opportunity for women to enjoy a time of fellowship together and to fulfill this commandment. Please check the Church Calendar for the next T2TT!
SNAC (SUNDAY NIGHT AFTER CHURCH)
All college students are invited to join with one of the church families after the evening worship service for a time of fellowship and a home-cooked meal. If you would like to come but are worried about getting to and from your college campus please use our Request-a-Ride service. |
